Now Serving: (Kevin) Bacon!!!

Today, I got to thinking about Kevin Bacon and decided that he needed to have a page in this blog that was dedicated to what he's about.  I believe that you'll find him to be truly amazing.

Digging To China is the movie that introduced me to him.

Below, you can find it in six parts.  Watch it, and you can easily see why it's one of my favorite movies.  Of course, my VERY favorite movie is this one.  You can be certain that I'm going to be designing a page of its own for this movie more sooner than later.

For more about Kevin Bacon, scroll down below the videos...

I had been hearing for years about the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon but hadn't delved into the subject matter enough beyond knowing that one could start a trail from any direction that would somehow lead to Kevin in six steps or less.

I had no idea why Kevin had been chosen for this honor/experiment/whatever but I did have fun taking part in a write-off about this at Epinions back when it was still THE place to go to find BOTH amazing reviews and a treasure trove of literary entertainment along with meeting a whole lot of great people.

I would soon be finding out even more, but I'm going to wait and share it in the future.  For now, I need to go ahead and publish this blog-entry so that it can be a part of this TweetSequence.

Today's date is Monday, November 26, 2018 and it's a little after 5 PM Anderson, Indiana USA Time.

Baby Bear's Den

Welcome To Baby Bear's Den
(ONE of them, anyway)
!!!!!!!

Today is Friday, November 23, 2018, and I've been very busy online today with my ongoing project (which I'm referring to as "THE BIG PROJECT" until further notice) of simplifying my life and becoming a more effective communicator, as I have a lot to say and want to do it well.

It's been a peaceful day after Thanksgiving (which was also a peaceful day), and I'm in the mood to get a lot done.  Anyway, this is going to be an ongoing blog-entry that I plan to keep adding to for at least until the first day of Spring in 2019.

(Update on February 10, 2019:  I've decided to grow this blog-entry until at least the first day of spring in 2021!)

Here's to new beginnings!!!

This is a blog-entry I created on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 to celebrate one of Anderson, Indiana's special treasures and will be adding more to it through Sunday, February 17, 2019, which will be his 72nd Birthday!!!

Thanks to everybody who helps Larry with the mission he began back in 2003.  He couldn't have done it this well and this quickly without you!!!

If you like this entry, please share it and make it go viral!!!

One more thing (for now) -- to open up the embedded item below, just click on the phrase See More that's part of it.

............

At this time, I want to share a couple of the latest videos made with Larry in them with you.

The first one will be a brief interview with him, and the next one will be one where he's a part of a longer video with a lot of other people who each play a role in keeping the multifaceted mission of Ronald McDonald House alive and well.

I also want to add that today is Thursday, November 29, 2018 at a little past 5:30 AM.

I can tell you where I was five years ago today -- as well as what was happening that I wouldn't be aware of until several weeks later -- but I'll fill that in at another time by returning here and hyperlinking some of this. If you're here at a future time and seeing one or more hyperlinks in this paragraph, you'll know that I've been back at some point to do this promised updating.  In fact, this entire portion of this blog-entry will be having several hyperlinks added in time.

For now, however, here are these two videos...

Here's a post about Larry being in Anderson's Christmas parade...

You can get even more details by clicking HERE.

Here's a blast-from the past (as in 4 years ago):

And here is a TweetSequence I put together today (12/3/2018).  It's not primarily about Larry, but he plays a very important cameo role in it.

One more thing:  There's an inspiring story behind that picture, and I'll be telling it as soon as I have more time.  For now, I need to run some errands...

November 11, 2018

Posting this now and adding to it shortly...

I fell asleep before adding yesterday's content, so I'll do that now...

Good, it's still showing the November 11 date on it, so I'm going to post what I worked on and had finished on that date.

Anyway, this was my contribution on November 11, 2018.  I had planned to put together more to be part of this entry but will do that in my November 12 blog entry.

To Be Added To Through My 66th Birthday

This is a blog-entry that I'll be adding a variety of things to with my last post being made (God Willing And The Creek Don't Rise) sometime on the day of my 66th birthday (Wednesday, December 12, 2018).

The following video is so precious.  I'll be saying more about it at various times, because it speaks volumes to me.

Although I haven't done it at this point in time (Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 4:29 PM and counting), the

"(God Willing And The Creek Don't Rise)"

will become a hyperlink that will take you somewhere sometime between now and 11:59 PM on

December 12, 2018

Anyway, be sure to watch the video and read the comments.

This weekend, here is one of the ways I'm celebrating Veterans Day / Veterans Day Weekend:

Blog-Entry For November 10

Blog-Entry For November 11

Blog-Entry For November 12

.......

Veterans Day Weekend has now come to a close.

I didn't get as much done in the way of adding to the three links above as I would have liked to have, but in other ways, I've been able to honor our Veterans -- and this honor shouldn't be limited to holidays, as they deserve our thumbs-up, heads-up; and TLC during other parts of the year as well.

That's all I have to say at this moment.  Will return soon...

............

Be sure to check out the following embedded item.  This event will come and go, but it will always be a timely piece that needs to be shared.

That will be all for now here at a little after 8 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 -- a day when a very special young lady named JayLee turned 14 years old.  Has it really been that long since she was watching Dora the Explorer and counting to ten in Spanish!?!

............

It is now Thursday, November 15, and I'm adding something new here at 9 PM...

............

Today is Friday, November 16, 2018 all day and is the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Aunt Ruby.  I'm working on a tribute to her but just wanted to go ahead and share something sweet 'n' cute here "just because..."

............

~~~~~~~
This tribute to Aunt Ruby was written on her birthday but shared here at a little after 5:30 AM on November 17 due to my getting distracted by various other things and ending up falling asleep from a little after 10:30 PM and not waking up until around 1:30 AM.  Have been watching movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
And it's actually almost seven now, as I dozed off again.  I obviously need to be catching up on my sleep. Anyway, here's the tribute...
~~~~~~~

............
This will be a busy blog-entry between now and the conclusion of December 12, 2018, so be watching for updates...

And this blog-entry has now reached its conclusion, but will still be getting updated in a limited way by going to The Collection...

"This Land Is Your Land...This Land Is My Land..."

Today is Saturday, November 10, 2018.  Tomorrow is Veterans Day.  This post is one of the ways I'm celebrating and will be adding to it throughout the day today.  Tomorrow, I'll make another special post.  Monday, I'll make another one.

This is a TweetSequence I made with the main theme of it being the haunting Vietnam Era song by The Association called Requiem For The Masses.  The message is as relevant today as it was back then.

This song was actually the B-side of this popular and beautiful romantic song...although I believe that the original intent of The Association to make Requiem For The Masses the A-Side and Never My Love the B-Side.

I discovered Requiem For The Masses in 1968 (the second semester of my freshman year of high school) when I wanted to see what the B-Side of Never My Love sounded like.  For those who haven't heard it, this is what Never My Love sounds like.

When I bought it, it reminded me of a senior named Chad whom I was dating at the time.  By the time I investigated Side-B, Chad and I were history, and I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo smitten with a Tom Jones lookalike math teacher named Jerry that I burned a skillet full of fried potatoes in HomeEc class because he happened to come in the classroom and I went into a staring trance.  But, of course, that's a whole other story.

Right around that same time, one of my classmates, Diana, was feeling tons of joy because her brother's ship didn't set sail for Vietnam until after his time in active duty had come to an end.

I remember her excitedly telling everybody that Bill was coming home!!!

Murphy's Law Strikes Again!!!

Don't have time to go into detail right now, but I've had several encounters with Murphy's Law.

But I believe I'll survive them...
