Classic Christmas Contribution April 9, 2017

I've just joined a wonderful group over at Facebook called Olden days of Christmas, and they're looking for pictures, writings, discussion-starters, thoughts, etc. that represent viewing Christmas through nostalgic and sentimental eyes.

Anyway, I wanted to share a some videos of Christmas music that would fall into this category and decided to bundle up several of them in one well-decorated place, and this is it.

Not only will they be shared in our group, but I can also share a link to this blog-entry on my Facebook Timeline (and other places as well), and that will let lots of people know about the group as well as entertaining them with favorite Christmas songs.

At the time I'm writing this, it's only a few days until Easter, but I don't believe that Christmas can only be celebrated within a time frame that takes in the last part of November, all of December, and the first part of January.

Did you know that the Ronald McDonald House located at 435 Limestone Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202 always keeps at least a small portion of the place decorated for Christmas all year long?

This is the RMH where Anderson, Indiana's very own CanMan donates the pop-can tabs that he collects, counts, and organizes.

At the time I'm writing this, Larry is getting close to collecting his 14,000,000th tab since he began doing this in 2003.

He also keeps a table-top Christmas tree up in his apartment year-round.

Anyway -- without further ado -- here is a list of Christmas songs that I believe you'll enjoy.

When you come to the end of the list, keep on going, as I've really gone all out decorating this page with one of the decorations being a picture of my folks and me that was taken by Aunt Jenny back on Christmas Day 1962.

When I became a member of the group, it was the first thing I shared, and lots of people liked it.  I also wrote something about the picture, and I've copied and pasted what I wrote under the copy of the picture I put here.

Here's what I wrote to go with this picture when I shared it there:
"Christmas 1962. I had just turned 10 on December 12, and my dad had just gotten out of the hospital after open-heart surgery and the complications of the same.
It was a really great time!
It wouldn't be until years later that I would learn how close my dad had come to dying from the same complications that took journalist, Lewis Grizzard -- and, even before that, how close the world had come to ending in a blitz of mushroom clouds..."
