Yawnnnnnnnnn...I Think I'll Let Other People Do The Talking Today...

There are a lot of things about which I could be writing today, but I'm kinda tired, as I pulled an all-nighter last night.  I'm even too tired to write about that right now except to say that it was for a good cause falling under the heading of both getting better organized AND saving a considerable amount of money.

In fact, these next few days are going to be especially busy for me -- though, hopefully, no more all-nighters in the near future.

Recently, I wrote a little piece about hyperlinks.  Today, I'm going to put them to good use here.  All you need to do is to click on each question to find an answer -- which will, also, introduce you to other writers at Bubblews.

Here we go:

1.  Would you like some tips re: how to have a better outlook on life?

2.  Did you realize how many hats lemon juice wears?

3.  Are you nosy about a neat thing to do with your nose?

4.  Would you like to meet a proud grandpa who definitely has the right to be proud?

5.  Is The Grass Always Greener On The Other Side?

6.  How would you like to do something wonderfully nutty?

7.  Finally, how would you like to read a funny and friendly poem?

Okay!  The library is about to close, so this will be enough for now.  However, when I have more time, I plan on sharing some more cool stuff.

I'll be leaving here in a little bit and will, likely, get to see both Pinky and Larry before spending a little bit of time on my latest project (details later) and getting in at a decent hour tonight and either calling Larry after that or else calling him first.  It all depends on what time it is...

We shall see...

"There's Nothing To Do" Certainly Doesn't Apply To Me These Days!!!

Today is Wednesday -- ALL DAY!!!

I wanted to get this entry completely done before starting on a new post here, so this is part of the reason why it's been so long since I actually posted a new blog-entry.

Anyway, I think that what I wrote for Bubblews a little earlier today will further give you a glimpse of my life lately.

As you can see by reading what I wrote for Bubblews, I actually should be elsewhere instead of in front of a computer today.  Of course, I've come to learn that where I happen to be turns out to be just where I need to be, so I don't question it much anymore.  Just figure that God had other plans for me.

And things usually turn out better than they would have had I been where I thought I should be at a given time.  Of course, my days sometimes go just as I've mapped them out to go in my mind when I wake up.

Anyway, life certainly isn't at all boring, to say the least...

There isn't even a whole lot of time to tell you about what's been happening lately, but here are some of the highlights of my life:

1.  Starting to take part in growing a community garden that will both actually provide some free produce for yours truly and with whomever I decide to share it as well as providing food for at least one or two missions/shelters in the area.

Not only that, but it has made a huge, overgrown lot look a whole lot better.

2.  Enjoyed a wonderful cookout on Monday of Memorial Day Weekend with a family who have been angels to me during this challenging time and a few other wonderful guests, including my own "adopted" sis, Pinky.  Larry was also invited, but he had a stomach bug and needed to stay close-to-home not only on that day but, also, on some other days at well.  He has made some helpful dietary changes (one being to cut down on the pop and potato chips and take time to eat more nutritious meals) and is already starting to feel much better.  He will still eat potato chips and drink pop but just not in the huge amounts that he had been.  I wonder how he stays so slender while eating all of that junk food...of course, he's a very active person, which probably accounts for a lot of it.  Like Uncle Kermit, he's never owned a car, and --even with accepting rides places from friends-- he still does a lot of walking to near-by places.  And, of course, he is out there in front of his place a lot bouncing around and waving at people driving by.

3.  As I mentioned in the Bubblews post I did earlier today, I'm also trying to downsize my storage.  My name is on a list for housing in another community, and I'm hoping to have my own place by no later than the start of summer.  Moving into my own place will definitely downsize the need for storage considerably -- perhaps, so that I can actually get by with having only one unit before all has been said and done.

Anyway, I'm just chuggin' and pluggin' along...

The way it looks now, I should be back online tomorrow.

For now, I'm going to tie up a few loose ends and leave Cyberspace to get back into the "real" world of more efficiently and economically organizing my "stuff."

I'll be getting paid (my S.S.I. check) on (I presume, since the last day of the month falls on Saturday) Friday, May 30, and can start paying some bills, debts, etc. and see what I have left.

For now, I have 69 cents in the bank; around a dime's worth of food stamps (which will be refilled on June 17); and some loose change -- and, for now, anyway, that's it!  Sounds bad, but it's not, as I have everything I need already between now and payday...

I'm a writer, but I definitely wouldn't be able to pass for a starving writer!  LOL  In fact, I really pigged out at that cookout.  Everything was so yummy--and the fellowship was even better than the food!!!

The angels hosting the cookout introduced me to Uncle Joshua, and I'll be seeing him again closer to Christmas.  He's an interesting person--even if he's kind of a cold, stiff guy.  That's all I'm going to say about Uncle Joshua for now!  Nope!  He's not a potential sweetheart -- and I've quit looking for one of those anyway!

On this note, I'll close...For now, anyway...

A Tribute To Three Angels & Other News

For starters...There was going to be a Part Two to the last entry I made here.  There still is, but it will be delayed for a time -- at least until I get this tribute written as well as catching you up on some other things as well.

As this is being written, you will notice that there are parts of it that's in boldface.  In time, all of them will turn into hyperlinks.  When all of them turn into hyperlinks, then, this entry is finished.

Among the people who passed away last week (the second week in May of 2014), there are three very special gentlemen ranging in age from 82 to 92 whom I'd like to honor at this time and share my own memories of them as well as how their batons will continue to be passed on to those of us left behind, and it's up to us re: what to do with them...

Introduction

William H. "Bill" Hardacre

Charles I. "Charlie" Hall

Dr. William C. "Bill" Gommell

As you can see from reading the following posts, I've been both very busy and have also been experiencing more than my share of computer frustrations...

!!! Today Of All Days !!!

Ummmmmmm...Duh!?! Funny, But I Haven't Noticed...

Today Is Monday -- All Day!

I believe that this is a good place to end this entry or else it will become too involved and weighed-down.  Already, I have new news to report, but it will just have to wait for the next entry to be written, which will be the aforementioned Part Two...

May, So Far, Seems To Be A Winning Month! (Part One)

Right now, I'm at a library I've been using to take care of business, and I'm getting close to running out of time to post anything else until another hour has passed.

The rule around here seems to be that you can have two hours (generally, divided into three sessions of this size: 60 minutes, 30 minutes, and 30 minutes) to use the computer.  After that, you have to wait until an hour goes by before you do another post.

I've just posted a post on Facebook concerning the condition of a local cemetery.  I wish that I had kept a copy of the post so that I can paste it in here.

However, it can be found over in this group (If You Grew Up In Pendleton, IN), if you want to read it:|

https://www.facebook.com/groups/242931632394009/#!/groups/197027807024063/

And I think this might be a link that will take you to the post (got this from resharing it on my own Timeline):

https://www.facebook.com/groups/242931632394009/#!/face.of.ainsleyjo

Anyway, my time is almost up for now.  I think what I'm going to do is to save this and continue writing on it when I get back online again in an hour or so...

Okay!!!  I'm back, and here is the next part...

Anyway, May has been a winning month, so far.

We're only into the 12th day of it, and, already, I've been pleased with how my life has been going.

It's been a very challenging time for me, but this month has found me continuing with the various improvements in my life, and this spring weather has been beautiful!

This past Thursday, I attended a meeting to try to right some wrongs.  I'm not going to use this blog to talk about that, but I'm sure that you can dig up the story on your own if you try hard enough.

Anyway, I believe my late, great uncle (Finley Jobe--known in various softball venues for his pitching ability) is, likely, proud of his left-handed niece when it comes to pitching pennies these days! LOL  Enuf sed (for now).

Had a celebration lunch at Frisches Big Boy with a certain beyond-amazing guy who gets mentioned a lot in various ones of my posts.  This took place on Saturday!

On Sunday, my "adopted" sis, Pinky, and I hung out for awhile and first caused a little excitement at the place where I'm storing part of what I managed to take with me right before becoming homeless last September.  Then, we caused a little excitement at the local Taco Bell due to how silly I was acting.  What can I say!?!  I was just so stoked about how things were going that I just couldn't help being even more goofy than usual.  And I also managed to win some free food while playing games to raise funds for making graduation from high school more realistic for various ones of our young people.

After we were finished at Taco Bell, we took a drive to look at my old grade school (Fall Creek Heights Elementary).  Still don't know what's going on there (as in what the building will be once it's renovated), but it certainly does look beautiful!!!  Fellow FCH Yellow Jackets:  You can celebrate that our old alma mater is still standing and getting ready for another phase of its life!!!  YAY!!!

Here's the last thing I wrote for Bubblews (to date), and I think it pretty much sums up why its so important to Write Your World.

Since it's almost time for the library to close, I'm not sure if I will be writing any more recent posts.  Will, likely, save that for tomorrow.

Anyway, it has been one busy time for me.

To be continued in the next entry...

Welcome To CampInsanity!!!

For various reasons, I've lately been thinking of having a T-Shirt made for me that reads:

I'M Refreshingly-Eccentric
but
YOU're Criminally-Insane
!!!

If you think that this quote is directed at you, it could be that (as Carly Simon sings) "You're so vain" that you think this quote is about you.

However, on the OTHER hand, perhaps, it IS.

All I can say is that, if the shoe fits, wear it--and go out to step in some cow patties!!!

As for CampInsanity ...

What can I say!?!

You've just got to read her to appreciate her--and you will!!!

Yep!  I said her.

CampInsanity is the nom de plume for a Canadian lady in her late sixties named Marilyn whose stories of childhood memories and other warm, fuzzy moments (such as how she's passing some of the same things she experienced during her growing-up years onto her grandkids now) will make you feel good all over if you read them.

I hope that you'll be getting over to see her soon, and that you'll also let your friends know about her!  She deserves it!!!

In other news, I've been preparing for a pretty major event this week.  I won't go into it now, but it's going to be major and will end up helping a lot of other people.  It kinda goes along with Lillian's Law.

In case you're wondering...my mushrooms were a hit with my angel friends!!!  And I can actually still taste them when I think about them!!!
Will, likely, be leaving here a bit early today, as I have some things to take care of in preparation for SHOWTIME!!!

Yep! Another SHOWTIME!!!

You know, that was one of my mom's favorite expressions:  "It's Showtime!!!"

I have the feeling that my audience will be seeing a presentation that they'll have a hard time forgetting...and I'll be playing to mixed reviews...Enuf sed...

Just overheard this guy talking about Route 66 and Highway 40.  Remember those?  When I have more time, I'll be writing my own thoughts about them, so stay tuned--and DO get over to check out Marilyn's CampInsanity to find out how she came up with that nom de plume!!!

It's Showtime!!!

After a long, cold, and snowy winter, spring has finally come to my part of The Hoosier State, and it's beautiful!!!

Several people have been under the impression that the winter with its extremely low temperatures, high amounts of snow, and few breaks in the sameness of the weather report was a sign of global warming...ummmm...run that one by me again!?!

One of my friends said that, actually, this kind of a winter was long overdue in happening, and that it would result in a more beautiful year ahead with greener grass, lovelier blossoms, etc. as well as fewer mosquitoes in the summer.

Although another friend (Larry -- You'll be reading his name a lot in this blog as well as in my neck of the Bubblews woods, I can safely predict..) has already been complaining of being bitten on the legs while he's trying to sleep by something that he doesn't believe is a bunch of bedbugs, and he suspects (as I do) that a few of those annoying, flying pests have already made themselves known here in early May--though Shawn is probably right that there might not be as many of them as there might have been without that consistently-cold-and-snowy winter.

Anyway, I don't think that there will be any snow around here again for a few months -- except for such occasions when DASH might be playing an oldie by Hank Snow on his Saturday morning country oldies show on NASH 102.5 FM (a.k.a. WMDH, which is a really neat country station coming out of New Castle and Muncie).

You know?  That's kinda poetic when you think about it:  DASH on NASH!!!

One more thing...

Morel mushrooms seem to be out in all of their glory this year--and I've hit it lucky to where I'm staying with friends, and somebody brought them a mess!  They have no idea how to prepare this kind of wild mushroom, but guess who does and is going to be fixing them for them tonight!  I suspect that the cook will also be getting a share of the finished product!!!  LOL

At this time, it's best for these friends to remain anonymous, but I can tell you this much:  They're angels!!!

On this note, I'll close, put a few more finishing touches on this blog, and finally open it to the public!!!

If you're reading this, it means that the blog is now open to the public, so I hope you'll be back often to check for new entries.

As I don't have my personal computer and have to use public ones, I might not be on here every single day.  However, I'll do my best not to be a stranger!

Have a blessed day!!!
